NES Classic Edition Coming Back To Store Shelves On June 29

After months of immediately selling out whenever it came in stock, the NES Classic was discontinued by Nintendo in April 2017.

The SNES Classic, also extremely hard to find, will be available through the end of the year as well, Nintendo tweeted. This means no one should have any difficulty trying to locate either the NES or SNES Classic Edition at retailers.

Many Nintendo fans are not quite over the NES Classic debacle of 2016.

When will the NES Classic be released?

Recently, Nintendo announced that the latter do not be sad, because they are "familiar with the situation" and are already preparing a new batch, which will be available during 2018. You don't need to worry about finding space to store all 30 of the games either: They're installed directly on the console. Nintendo in September promised to bring back the super-popular retro game system this summer, and now we have an actual re-launch date.

"We had originally planned for this to be a product for last holiday", Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé told TIME after the decision was made. Unlike the NES Classic, the SNES Classic bundles in two controllers so multiple players can participate straight out of the box. The announcement comes after it was revealed that Nintendo Switch Online benefits include online access to classic NES games.
