Avengers: Infinity War's Thanos leaves Fortnite tomorrow

Avengers: Infinity War's Thanos leaves Fortnite tomorrow

The patch is expected for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and we'll circle back with the patch notes when they are made available. We'll find out more once the update officially hits tomorrow morning.

There is a slight problem though - Epic says that the release of Patch 4.2 will be delayed and it has no ETA yet as to when it will roll out. Due to this delay some quests may not function until the build releases.

But in their latest Fortnite server update on Tuesday the Fortnite team said: "v4.2 is releasing tomorrow, May 16".

On the Fortnite Reddit page Epic Games revealed that patch notes for Fortnite update 4.2 will be released once downtime begins.

Last week, Thanos invaded the world of Fortnite in an epic Marvel crossover event.

Originally kicked off on May 8th, the "Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup" has given Fortnite players the chance to play as Thanos, the villain of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War.

It was meant to last for a week but has run just a little over that.

The addition of the Burst Assault Rifle will mark the first new balistic weapon added to Fortnite Battle Royale since the Light Machine Gun, which boasted a much higher fire rate and ammo capacity than the current Assault Rifles, at the cost of range and accuracy. In the game's news tab, Epic Games has teased a new weapon: a Burst Assault Rifle.

With Season 4 coming out around the same time as the new Avengers movie, this crossover doesn't seem all that unusual.

While Thanos will be snapping his way out of the game soon, here's hoping that Fortnite crosses over with other big pop-culture franchises sometime in the future.
