Hidden Pages In Anne Frank's Diary: Corny Jokes And Sex Ed

Hidden Pages In Anne Frank's Diary: Corny Jokes And Sex Ed

The Jewish teenager apparently covered up the pages because she anxious that other people in her hideout would read them, as they contain a series of dirty jokes and her thoughts on sex education, said Ronald Leopold, director of Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.

Ronald Leopold, executive director of the Anne Frank House, told the Times that the newly uncovered pages add "meaning to our understanding of the diary".

The two newly revealed pages were written in Frank's first diary, with a red plaid cover, on September 28, 1942, when she was 13 years old.

The black and white photos of a young Anne Frank along with her diary helped her to become a worldwide symbol of the Holocaust.

It is not known why she covered up the two pages with brown paper, but several times in her diaries she voices fears that others might pry into her writings.

"She was probably afraid that other people she was hiding with, either her father, her mother or the other family would discover her diary and would read these things", Leopold said.

"These - literally - uncovered texts bring the inquisitive and in many respects precocious teenager back into the foreground". It is unclear when the text might be available in English, the Times reports. Anne herself presumably pasted the paper over the written pages, though it's not clear when or why.

Bezos also halted two construction projects in Seattle pending the outcome of the head-tax debate, which Sawant called extortion. The city council president, Bruce Harrell, spoke to a growing "fear of what this city is becoming".

An 'Amazing' Find: Conjoined Deer Fawns
After the study wrapped up, the twins were preserved by Robert Utne and taxidermist Jessica Brooks to create a realistic display. The specimen has been stillborn, apparently, and was described as "amazing" and "extremely rare" by the scientists.

Anne then attempts to explain sex to an imaginary person, using the information she's learnt from her father, a friend and books.

"I sometimes imagine that someone would come to me and ask me to inform him about sexual subjects, how would I do that?", she wrote.

Frank's candid words on sex didn't make it into the first published diary, which appeared in English in 1952.

Miss Frank and her sister died in camp, when she was just 15. In 1998, five additional pages were released-pages that dealt with what Anne saw as the strained and false relationship between her parents.

The pages' content had remained unknown for decades because Frank had erased them.

The story is set in 1942 when a 13-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their Amsterdam home and went into hiding following the Nazis' occupation of Holland.

"Anyone who reads the passages that have now been discovered will be unable to suppress a smile".
