33-year-old sister of Dutch queen dies in Argentina

Queen Maxima of Holland's youngest sister, Inés Zorreguieta, was found dead in Argentina in an apparent suicide, local media reported.

According to reports, Inés Zorreguieta worked for the civil service in Buenos Aires, and had been suffering from depression.

Zorreguieta was a psychologist who worked for an office on social policies at the president's office.

She was bridesmaid at her sister's wedding to then Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander in 2002 and is godmother to their youngest daughter, 11-year-old Princess Ariane.

Queen Maxima, of the Dutch Royal Family, has made a decision to cancel her public appearances in the coming days in light of the awful news that her sister has passed away. Her death comes 10 months after the death of Maxima's father Jorge Zorreguieta, who died at the age of 89 from cancer.

The lifeless body of Ines Zorreguieta, 33, was found at around 0300 GMT on Thursday at her apartment in the western Almagro district of the Argentinian capital, the Spanish-speaking daily Clarin reported.

She has cancelled her forthcoming engagements, including a state visit next week to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania which King Willem-Alexander will carry out alone.
