Peter Jackson's Mortal Engines Trailer Introduces the Great Predator Cities

At the end of previous year we saw a teaser trailer for Mortal Engines, an adaptation of author Philip Reeve's book series. Hopefully a subsequent trailer helps clear things up to give audiences a better idea of the story of Mortal Engines. The same writing team that brought us Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit headed up by Peter Jackson has partnered with director Christian Rivers to deliver what looks to be an action-packed, visually striking movie. The film stars Hera Hilmar, Robert Sheehan, Jihae, Leila George, Ronan Raftery, Colin Salmon, Patrick Malahide, Regé-Jean Page, and Stephen Lang.

"Mortal Engines" arrives in Irish cinemas on December 14th.

Based on Philip Reeve's celebrated 2001 steampunk novel of the same name, Mortal Engines is set thousands of years after a cataclysmic event destroyed civilization, leaving the remnants of humanity to rebuild.

With CGI effects to spare, Mortal Engines should certainly be a grand sort of digital adventure that doesn't skimp on spectacle. The British capital now roams the planet preying upon smaller traction towns.

Robert Sheehan stars as museum apprentice Tom Natsworthy from the city of London who finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the unsafe fugitive assassin Hester Shaw, played by Hera Hilmar, and forges an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future. Two unlikely heroes come together in an attempt to change the course of the future. It's Jackson's first feature project since the completion of the Hobbit trilogy in 2014. He was onboard as visual effects specialist for the trilogies mentioned above and for 2005's King Kong.
