IHOP announces it's changing its iconic name

IHOP announces it's changing its iconic name

The International House of Pancakes will announce what the "b" will stand for on Monday, June 11, 2018. It's no longer a thing.

On Wednesday's episode of "The Opposition", Jordan Klepper was certain that the impending International House of Pancakes restaurant chain name-change masks a awful threat - and he brought in nearly his entire team to figure out what it is. "Now, we're flippin' our name to IHOb. Find out what it could b on 6.11.18".

For its part, IHOP's social media crew touted the tease on social media.

"For 60 pancakin' years, we've been IHOP", the tweet read.

PGA Tour pro Bud Cauley in vehicle accident
Cauley has played in 138 PGA Tour events (missing the entire 2015 season after having shoulder surgery) and won $6,815,919. Was a rough 'sleep last night. "Prayers are needed and all we can do is hope for the best!"

Pixel 3 XL seekers rejoice, here’s a big fat leak
Google is expected to launch the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, and maybe a cheap Pixel 3 later this year, likely in October again. This developer model comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which isn't that much different than the existing phone.

Mnuchin urged Trump to exempt Canada from steel and aluminum tariffs
What administration officials have insisted is only a "trade dispute" appears closer to becoming a trade war. Trump was referring to the War of 1812 , which was fought in part over the control of Canada.

Then IHOP posed a poll of their own with some of the most popular options (and a couple more odd choices). People started to wonder if the b stood for breakfast, brunch or bacon, which would make sense, but others said perhaps the new identity had other possibilities such as bitcoin, beer, broccoli, burritos or even break dancing.

For now, the IHOP name remains on the chain's 1,671 restaurants across the country, including local outlets in Brainerd, Hixson, Fort Oglethorpe, Cleveland and Dalton, Georgia.

The breakfast joint has seen its stock rise 25 percent this year, showing no immediate need for Dine Brands to reinvent the restaurant. "It would also likely cost a big stack of pancakes (bancakes?) to change restaurant signs and menus at the almost 1,800 IHOP restaurants", according to CNN.
