E3 2018: Anthem Gets Another Spectacular Showing

Developer BioWare went in depth on its upcoming multiplayer role-playing adventure Anthem today as part of its EA Play media presentation today.

Battlefield 5: One of the biggest gaming titles the new Battlefield 5 showcased a "Royale mode", which is now trending in the gaming community, confirms that the first-person-shooter franchise will be playable in the upcoming release.

To start the show off, EA brought out the big guns and gave us a look at Battlefield V set during World War 2.

Essentially gamers will be able to buy skins to customize their Javelin mechs and likely their weapons as well. Player characters, called Freelancers, will don one of four specialized mechanized suits known as Javelins to do battle in an open-world environment. Players will also create stories of their own while they play, so no two journeys are the same.

Anthem is developed by BioWare and will be available for Origin for PC, Xbox One and PS4. While no screens or clips were shown, during a casual conversation, the game's producer revealed that Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be set between Episode III and IV. This should come as good news for those who have issues with modern, in-game economies. However, more about that we'll probably hear as we're getting close to its release date, which is February 22. Once EA Play was over, BioWare continued the conversation on social media, disclosing several other details including the fact that, at least when it first launches, Anthem won't have PvP gameplay of any kind. It seems so natural that when the game was announced previous year, many had just assumed it would have PvP options similar to Destiny, but fans had gotten ahead of themselves.

Boyd Dies: Former "America’s Got Talent" Winner Was 42
Neal starred on America's Got Talent in 2008, going on to scoop first place on the talent show after winning the audience over. Boyd, who ran as Republican for the Missouri House of Representatives in 2011, also had political plans.

Anthem, the brand-new IP from BioWare, is a social, connected action-RPG focused on co-operative multiplayer.

So, there's a reasonable chance you'll find yourself lumped together with at least one profoundly unpleasant troll if you're forced to rely on matchmaking for the majority of your time with Anthem. The game will be released on August 10th 2018.

So that is it for the first briefing of E3 2018 - a short if solid showing from EA.

And two games were outright launched during the EA Play: Unravel 2, a co-op sequel to the 2016 EA-published puzzle platformer, and Command and Conquer: Rivals, a new free-to-play, Clash Royale-like spin on the classic RTS series for iOS and Android. The title is going to be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
