Halo: Combat Evolved, the first game of the franchise, was released on November 15, 2001 and quickly became a bestseller, generating very positive reviews and establishing Microsoft's new Xbox console as a legitimate competitor to Nintendo and Sony.

Compulsion Games, a studio based in Quebec, Canada, that was founded in 2009. The tech aims to minimise the time between you buying a game and it being available to play. And for VR users, Prey and Wolfenstein are getting new titles. Halo Infinite covers a side story that continues the tale of John-117, better known as the Master Chief.

Gears 5, out next year, is the biggest of three Gears of War titles in the works.

To counter that, Microsoft surprised with a huge number of Japanese games coming to Xbox.

It's likely that EA will use that technology as the basis for its own game streaming service.

Halo fans looking to return to the video game franchise's popular science fiction universe won't have to wait too much longer. Microsoft hasn't released official sales numbers since 2014, but the generally accepted theory is that there are about 30 million Xbox Ones in circulation. Last but probably not least, Microsoft announced an upcoming Battletoads sequel.
