Watford sign Deulofeu from Barcelona for €13m

FC Barcelona confirmed forward Gerard Deulofeu completed a permanent Premier League return as their first off-season exit, in what is expected to be a busy transfer window for the LaLiga champions.

In last season's loan spell, the 24-year-old scored once in seven games as he battled with injury but generally impressed, certainly enough to earn another shot at the Premier League.

The 24-year-old becomes Watford's second summer signing, following the arrival of England youth worldwide Ben Wilmot from Stevenage last month.

Barcelona have also secured a percentage cut of his next transfer fee.

"We are very pleased to welcome Gerard back to Vicarage Road and thank FC Barcelona for their part in concluding this deal", said Watford chairman and chief executive Scott Duxbury.

Then after a loan spell at the age of 20 to Sevilla under new Arsenal boss Unai Emery, Deulofeu signed a permanent deal with Everton in 2015.

The winger struggled for playing time under Ernesto Valverde, though, making only five starts in La Liga before heading back to England with Watford.
