MTV is making a live-action ‘Aeon Flux’ reboot

The Viacom-owned network is developing a live-action reboot of the 1990s animated series, from Jeff Davis (Teen Wolf, Criminal Minds) and The Walking Dead/Fear The Walking Dead's Gale Anne Hurd, Deadline has confirmed.

Aeon Flux takes place in the future, at a time when only two cities have survived a global disaster. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news on this new Aeon Flux live-action series. This series is just the latest MTV show from the past to be revived for a reboot, with the network now developing revivals of Jersey Shore, Yo MTV Raps, Total Request Live and The Real World. It paid off for them in a big way, as it's how they discovered Beavis And Butt-head, but it also worked with Peter Chung's Aeon Flux. Hurd, who produced the live-action Aeon Flux film in 2005, will also serve as an executive producer.

That said, it's very much of its time, and it'll be a challenge to reboot this in a way that's faithful to Chung's original approach.

Dialogue with Trump could be 'constructive': Putin
Canada was swift to reject the idea. "The other countries of the G6 are a larger market than the American market", Mr Macron said. Mr Macron - who has cultivated a close relationship with Mr Trump over recent months - stressed that the USA was isolated.

Rose McGowan Indicted On Drug Charge In Virginia
Rose has pleaded not guilty to the case, and states that she was without the wallet for five hours before she retrieved it. In January 2017, the actress' wallet went missing while she was waiting at baggage claim.

It will be interesting to see if Aeon Flux can (finally) work in a live-action capacity, especially with the 2005 dud of a movie serving ignominiously as the only attempt. The live action film starred Theron, Frances McDormand and Marton Csokas, and was directed by Karyn Kusama. It wasn't until 1995 that a ten-episode half hour long animated series was released. The movie has a miserable 9% on Rotten Tomatoes and couldn't even make back its $62 million budget at the box office.

The project marks a return to MTV for Davis, who created and served as showrunner on Teen Wolf, which ran for six seasons and was the highest-rated scripted series in network history. This new report also reveals that MTV is getting ready to launch a new studio entirely devoted to monetizing the rest of its library of properties. The first few seasons of Teen Wolf were actually quite good, and set up the supernatural series to be this generation's answer to Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
