North Korea praises Donald Trump's 'enthusiasm' after historic summit

Despite Trump's optimism following his summit with Kim, many remained skeptical that North Korea, infamous on the world stage for making empty promises, especially when it comes to its nuclear program, would follow through on its pledges from this week's meetings. The president would not elaborate on these hazy measures of time.

"We had a historic meeting and chose to leave the past behind", Kim said as he and Trump signed the joint statement, adding, "The world will see a major change". But simultaneously, Seoul is aiming to prepare its defenses in case the USA decides to halt joint military exercises indefinitely or pull out the around 28,000 troops it has stationed inside South Korea's borders.

The KCNA report, as well as the joint statement after the summit, also mentioned that the president had offered North Korea unspecified security guarantees, which Pyongyang considers an indispensable precondition for nuclear disarmament.

China has repeatedly called for a "freeze-for-freeze" or "dual suspension" initiative, in North Korea suspends its nuclear program in exchange for the United States and South Korea to suspend their joint military exercises in the region.

At the summit, Trump emphasized what North Korea has to gain by giving up its nuclear weapons and rejoining the worldwide community - a subject he returned to on Twitter.

President Trump is expected to meet separately with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Monday.

Kim's vows to denuclearize were reported by state media Wednesday within that context - that Pyongyang would respond to easing of what it sees as the hostile usa policy with commensurate but gradual moves toward "the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula". Defence Secretary James Mattis' chief spokeswoman, Dana W. White, told reporters he was "in full alignment" with Trump.

"The United States is our ally, so the joint military drills are still necessary to maintain our relationship with the US", said Lee Jae Sung, from Incheon. In return, Trump has promised to stop USA military drills in South Korea.

China hopes the United States and North Korea can reach agreement on a peace deal, the Chinese government's top diplomat, State Councillor Wang Yi, said on Tuesday, as the two countries leaders met in Singapore.

Democrats want criminal investigation of EPA's Scott Pruitt
"I mean, we're setting records ", Trump told reporters before departing the White House for the G-7 summit in Quebec. Meanwhile, Pruitt is continuing to radically reshape the EPA.

Some Teams Eying Possibility Of Trading Up For Luka Doncic
Michael Scotto recently reported that the Clippers have " made calls to several teams " with a Top-10 pick to try to make a trade. It would be silly not even to listen to offers, but it should take something extreme to cause the Suns to part with the top pick.

Kim was quoted as saying that if the US takes "genuine measures for building trust", then the North can reciprocate in a "commensurate" fashion - suggesting that the USA will have to make concessions before North Korea.

About 29,000 U.S. soldiers are based in the South, under a security agreement reached after the war ended in 1953.

Trump's shock announcement of a stop to war games with Seoul will have come as an added bonus as Beijing has always eyed the military exercises in its backyard warily. David Perdue, R-Georgia, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said, "I'm very troubled today" by the president's halt to the exercises.

Washington has described the drills as defensive in nature, but Pyongyang says they are a rehearsal for invasion and has long called for them to end. "We overcame all kinds of scepticism and speculations about this summit and I believe that this is good for the peace", he said. Even in cases where the US president has studied his briefing materials, unlike Trump, having others present can prevent a situation where the two nations disagree about what promises were made.

A suite on the 20th floor of St. Regis Hotel, where Kim is staying, costs more than 13,000 Singaporean dollars a night. During his press conference in Singapore, he turned to Pompeo when asked if there was a transcript. "They did not record it".

Most of all, I think they feel relief - relief they would not have felt, and certainly not to the same degree, if the Democrats hadn't drummed up hysteria about an impending war with North Korea. Are there recordings of it? I don't. We probably have some notes or something.

In comparison, the Iran Nuclear Deal, signed by President Barack Obama and other European nations, detailed steps about how the International Atomic Energy Agency would monitor Iran's denuclearization and have access to inspect any sites they deemed suspicious.

And now here we are, talking seriously about not-nuking each other. Any notes will be turned into a Memorandum of Conversation, possibly just a summary of the conversation, and provided to the National Archives. First, Trump acknowledged that human rights was not a major topic during the meeting, saying it "was discussed relatively briefly compared to denuclearization".

"I'm here one day", he said. So I don't have to.
