Owners: Triple Crown victor Justify will race again

San Diegans will get a chance to see Triple Crown victor Justify this summer.

Despite questions from owners about the racing tactics of trainer Bob Baffert's second horse, Restoring Hope, there is no plan to investigate the circumstances that emerged in the aftermath of the third jewel of the Triple Crown, which Justify - Baffert's first horse - captured Saturday. Sent off as the 4-5 favorite, Justify ran the longest race of the series in 2:28.18 and paid $3.60, $3.50 and $2.80. He's the first Triple Crown victor to face that many rivals in the 1½-mile Belmont.

"This ran a tremendous race".

It is the second Triple Crown for trainer Bob Baffert (top right).

Other Triple Crown winners include Sir Barton (1919), War Admiral (1937), Whirlaway (1941), Count Fleet (1943), Assault (1946), Citation (1948) and Secretariat (1973). A wall featured two new signs, one proclaiming Justify's achievement below another for American Pharoah. Of course this usually means there is some change throughout race day, but futures have already set the morning line odds, and there probably won't be any dramatic changes. He's just an unbelievable horse.

While Justify and Restoring Hope are stablemates and have the same the trainer, they have different ownership groups which makes this apparent strategy even more questionable. Vino Rosso made the most serious move to get within a length but never threatened. Justify will continue to race throughout the year.

Smith, at 52, is the oldest jockey to win the Triple Crown.

Justify certified his place in racing immortality when he won 150th Belmont S. (G1), defeating Gronkowski by almost to length to become the 13th victor of the historic Triple Crown.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Triple Crown victor Justify has returned to Churchill Downs to rest as the track where the quest began prepares to celebrate the milestone. "Now we can take a deep breath and just see how the horse is". "The thing about him I can not believe [is] the way he walked in the paddock yesterday. He's become a household name and I'm looking forward to his next race as much as [everyone else]".

Steve Lewandowski, the New York Gaming Commission steward, said Sunday that there is no plan to talk to Geroux.

With attendance of 90,327, on-track handle was $16,159,584.
