US, Mexico and Canada to host 2026 World Cup finals

US, Mexico and Canada to host 2026 World Cup finals

Since the 2018 and 2022 tournaments were awarded to Russian Federation and Qatar respectively in December 2010, widespread corruption has been exposed in the global game, including allegations of bribery and payment for votes. A successful joint North America bid will see the global sports event return to the USA for the first time since 1994. Their lone opponent was Morocco.

Decio de Maria, President of the Football Association of Mexico, left, and Canadian soccer player Alphonso Davies, right, present a joint United bid by Canada, Mexico and the United States to host the 2026 World Cup at the FIFA congress in Moscow, Russia, Wednesday, June 13, 2018.

The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with the U.S. hosting 60 of the 80 matches. Mexico played host to the 1970 and 1986 World Cup. The United States will host every match from the quarterfinals forward, with the proposed final to be held at MetLife Stadium outside New York City. He said that not only were some of the reforms and rule changes enough to convince the bid again, obviously with Canada and Mexico, but it really made the difference in winning, and winning emphatically.

"Football today is the only victor", said U.S. Soccer president Carlos Cordeiro.

The 2015 Women's World Cup was played on artificial turf, prompting a human-rights complaint from a group of elite female players.

Brexit campaigner Banks says Russian meetings 'no issue' in the past
Banks and Leave.EU's former communications manager, Andrew Wigmore, met Russian officials several times between 2015 and 2017. When Mr Collins again pressed for five more minutes, Mr Banks responded sternly: "No, no, no - the word is "no".

Meghan Markle slammed for 'inappropriate' dress at parade
Given how many rules and traditions the Royal Family are said to adhere to, it's little wonder Meghan still needs some guidance. Australia and New Zealand welcomed the trip, saying that both their nations would warmly receive the royal couple .

Fed interest rate: Federal Reserve hikes interest rate another quarter point today
After years in which the economy expanded at roughly a tepid 2 per cent annually, growth could top 3 per cent this year. That compares with March's forecasts for 3.8 per cent this year and 3.6 per cent in the following two years.

The United States was defeated in the final round of voting to determine the 2022 World Cup host. Canadian officials say they will push to keep all three of their host cities. "You can hear the accents; they're not Russian only, they are from everywhere in the world and you can sense the anticipation that the World Cup is finally beginning".

BS: Not only gifts to potential voters but also the bidders offering to build a stadium in your country in exchange for your vote. "There would be tens of thousands of global visitors that would be coming into the city, enjoying everything we have to offer", said Needle. "Why should we be supporting these countries when they don't support us (including at the United Nations)?" he wrote. The 1994 World Cup ― which Brazil won in front of 94,000 fans at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California ― also led to the creation of Major League Soccer, the American professional league that began play in 1996.

There has been no formal announcement yet that the three co-host countries will skip qualifying, as has been the tournament custom.

If we're spitballing, it's hard to imagine the United States being forced to qualify for a World Cup in which it is the predominant host.
