'Drunk' seagulls have been confusing the RSPCA in Somerset

'Drunk' seagulls have been confusing the RSPCA in Somerset

In fact, the RSPCA says it's been inundated with calls reporting birds that are pissed out their skulls.

Now dozens of seagulls are believed to be scavenging leftover alcohol in Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

RSPCA vet David Couper has been treating a number of the birds at the charity's West Hatch Wildlife Centre in Taunton, Somerset.

They struggle to stand or walk straight and appear disoriented.

One theory is that the seagulls have been consuming booze left behind on beaches by boozed up revellers, another that they've been swooping in on grain by-products from a local brewery.

Talking to Metro, vet David Couper explained how weird that there have been so many instances.

"We have had a number of these come through over the last couple of weeks We think they're gaining access to some brewing waste products somewhere".

Meghan Markle fans claim she’s adopted a ‘posh’ British accent in video
It seems unauthentic for Meghan Markle to be speaking with a British accent. "We've officially lost her to the monarchy". When another woman told her she looked "gorgeous" at her wedding, Meghan added: "The sun was shining for us".

"They looked awful. Some have been so poorly they've died", he added.

'Possibly from being exposed to high temperatures after falling unconscious.

A crew of six firefighters were called to rescue a seagull behaving very erratically on a roof but when they arrived it had already fallen off and was sitting shaking his head.

"We took some video of one of the birds who is staggering around and losing his balance just like a person would if they'd had too much to drink".

Fire fighter Watch Manager in Charge Virgil Turner said: 'When I picked up the gull he immediately threw-up all over me and he reeked of beer'.

"But the birds absolutely stink of alcohol when we collect them so now our vans smell like pubs".
