England will not 'get a better chance to make World Cup final'

England's World Cup quarter-final against Sweden could be played in front of as many as 10,000 empty seats in Samara.

Harry Maguire headed England into a first half lead and victory was guaranteed by an equally emphatic Dele Alli finish in the 59th minute.

But England still remain flawed and Southgate will have issues to address ahead of a semi-final date with either hosts Russian Federation or Croatia next Wednesday.

Forward Raheem Sterling has faced some criticism over his struggles to score for England and just before halftime his doubters were handed ammunition when he was twice left alone to bear down on Sweden keeper Robin Olsen. It was a sign of what was to come - direct balls, long throws, pressing - but it didn't trouble England.
