Name of driver in crash that killed 4 daughters, father released

A New Jersey mother has been left as the sole survivor of a crash that killed her husband and four daughters in Delaware.

On Sunday, police identified the truck driver who slammed into the minivan in DE as Alvin Hubbard.

Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) and Life Net (Christiana Hospital Helicopter) are en route to the scene.

Brian C. Kern, 24 of Bethlehem, sustained nonlife-threatening injuries in the multi-vehicle collision on Route 1 in Townsend, Del., state police said in an updated news release Sunday. The wife and mother, identified as 53-year-old Mary Rose, survived the crash and was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The family was returning home after a vacation.

Hubbard, 44, and a 30-year-old passenger were treated and released from a local hospital with minor injuries, police said.

'It's certainly heartbreaking as you can imagine, ' Delaware State Police Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe told NBC 10. She said authorities had not determined whether he may have experienced a medical emergency. "That's it. In one big sweep", said Audie's brother Danny Trinidad.
