The 92-year-old queen and her husband Prince Philip were not among the guests, but a royal source said it had been agreed some time ago that the queen would not attend and her absence was not due to any health issues.

She will attend high profile celebrations in central London marking the centenary of the RAF on Tuesday, and a visit by United States president Donald Trump in Windsor on Friday.

Royal christenings are usually private affairs and most royal babies have been christened at royal palaces.
