Disney Delays Indiana Jones 5 Release to 2021

Look, guys, stop trying to make Indiana Jones 5 happen.

News broke a few weeks ago that the as-yet-untitled Indiana Jones 5 had been delayed and would not be ready in time for its scheduled July 2020 release date. Instead, Disney has pushed the Steven Spielberg-directed movie to July 9, 2021. The latest installment in the long-running franchise was previously set to arrive on July 10, 2020. The delays reportedly came from key members of the production not being satisfied with the script from original screenwriter David Koepp (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull). Steven Spielberg is also coming back to direct, as he's helmed every other entry in the franchise to date. "It's rare to have such a ideal combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn't be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven". The studio has officially dated Dwayne Johnson's Jungle Cruise for October 11, 2019, with Angelina Jolie's Maleficent 2 opening the following year on May 29, 2020.

Now there are no other films in Maleficent 2 and Indiana Jones 5's new release dates.
