Drake scores his eighth No. 1 album on Billboard's chart with 'Scorpion'

Every one of the 25 songs on his new album Scorpion-plus two non-album tracks-were on the chart this week, giving him yet another record. It racked up 745.92 million US online plays in its first week, the highest streaming debut for any artist ever.

Drake and XXXTentacion's popularity is being mirrored in the United States, where the Billboard Hot 100 features seven Drake songs and nine of XXXTentacion's.

In doing so, he beats a record of five songs held by the Beatles - a record that has stood since 1964 - according to Billboard.

All of this comes on the heels of Drake also notching a streaming record.

Drake now has a career total of 31 to Jackson's 30 with the late King of Pop's 30th being his appearance on Drake's new single, "Don't Matter to Me". Drake is one of the biggest acts in pop history and Scorpion was another notch in his belt of chart supremacy.

Over on the Billboard charts Drake also surpassed the late Michael Jackson as the artist with the most Hot 100 Top 10s in his career among solo males.

"Scorpion" sold 732,171 equivalent albums - based off album sales and streams - to debut at No. 1 on Billboard's 200 albums chart. There's some complicated math behind them, but what they basically mean is that if an album's songs are downloaded or streamed on services like Spotify often enough, it can boost the album's chart position just like a traditional physical sale would.

The album had some major marketing heft behind it.

1 hit, "Nice for What", returns to the top of the chart, while "Nonstop" debuts at No. 2.

Looking at the entirety of the list, Drake brings 27 songs onto the July 14-Hot 100.
