Former Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl to guide Trump's Supreme Court nominee

It will be one of the most consequential decisions President Trump makes during his time in the White House, and he will announce it tonight.

If Collins and Murkowski vote "no" and Democrats all vote "no", the nomination would be blocked. The White House had asked for McConnell's advice on the matter, the official said.

Even if Republicans lose one or two votes, they will likely still be able to confirm the nominee - who is expected to be announced Monday evening - with the support of several Democrats up for re-election in November in states where Trump is overwhelmingly popular. Jon Kyl of Arizona would guide the nominee through the Senate confirmation process.

The fact that the president chose another conservative justice is more important than the name of that justice. "This is a big burden on him to show me he can be fair and objective".

But lawyers who have worked with Kavanaugh are confident he will be boldly conservative.

"People who have been vetting or grooming justices for federal court openings have a much more developed process now than in 1987", when Kennedy was nominated, he said.

Politico reported Monday that Hardiman is one of the president's top candidates to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, who is retiring at the end of July.

According to The Associated Press, Sen. "Barrett said she tends to agree "with those who say that a justice's duty is to the Constitution", rather than a precedent she thinks is clearly in conflict with it". He's urging people to make their voices heard, an indirect reference to voicing their objections to senators.

Schumer says if Kavanaugh is confirmed, "women's reproductive rights would be in the hands of five men on the Supreme Court".

Gomez hasn't said anything publicly about the engagement and hasn't posted on social media since four days before the news broke. The couple got engaged at a resort in the Bahamas on July 7, a date that holds religious significance to Bieber.

Cristiano Ronaldo Juventus transfer reportedly close, sending shares rocketing
Real Madrid described Ronaldo as one of the club's "great symbols" for his success on the pitch and the example he led off it. My respect and my recognition for all of them. "I hear this now for the first time", he said .

Former Liverpool and Atletico Madrid striker to join Sagan Tosu in Japan
Fernando Torres , everybody's favourite floppy-haired blonde striker from the late noughties, is now 34-years-old. He announced that he is joining Sagan Tosu as a free agent after leaving Atletico Madrid last month.

Kennedy said he was bracing for a tough confirmation battle as Democrats focus on the nominee's views of the high court's Roe v. Wade ruling legalizing abortion. Trump made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon (NZ time).

In a 2013 law review article, Kavanaugh wrote that after seeing firsthand the many hard duties that a president encounters, he thinks that presidents should operate free from the threat of civil suits, such as the sexual harassment suit that led to President Clinton's impeachment, and that presidents should also be free from criminal investigations. They may need every Republican senator to secure the seat without Democratic help.

Kavanaugh expressed his gratitude and said he was humbled by the president's confidence in him.

In this June 1, 2006 file photo, from left to right, President Bush, watches the swearing-in of Brett Kavanaugh as Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia by U.S. At Politico, Sherrilyn Ifill contends that in this anniversary year, "anyone whose record does not show a demonstrated commitment to the Constitution's core guarantees of equality and liberty for all should be soundly defeated".

Hardiman has a tale Republicans like McConnell love: a former taxi driver from the key swing state of Pennsylvania who comes with the recommendation of fellow 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Maryanne Trump Barry - the president's sister.

The president has spent the days leading up to his announcement discussing the pros and cons of the various options with aides and allies. Barrett is a former clerk for Justice Antonin Scalia.

Kethledge, a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, is a former Kennedy clerk and a former in-house lawyer at Ford Motor Co. But his supporters have cited his experience and wide range of legal opinions.

Kavanaugh and his wife Ashley have two daughters.
