Goosebumps 2 Trailer: Slappy's Back for a Haunted Halloween

The 2015 horror-comedy film introduced a group of kids who accidentally stumble upon R.L. Stine's enchanted manuscripts - unleashing all manner of terrible monsters onto the world. And it looks like one fun time for the entire family this October. The film is scheduled for release by Sony on October 12.

In the first Goosebumps, he also voiced Slappy, but Deadline was told that "it's the voice of the puppeteer Avery Jones" in the sequel.

Goosebumps 2 is arriving with more spooktacular cinematic goodness to reinvigorate the childhood memories of '90s kids and haunt a new generation. And the actor doesn't seem to be the only thing Goosebumps 2 is borrowing from its more adult-oriented horrors-come-to-life cousin; that dusty abandoned R.L. Stine house in the trailer is a dead ringer for the house on Neibolt Street from IT.

A big part of the reason for that success was Jack Black.

Caroline Flack confirms split from fiancé Andrew Brady
According to Mail Online, things between Caroline, 38, and Andrew, could get messy as they fight over who will look after the dog. The couple did split in March over cheating rumours but were quickly reunited - only for them to split again this week.

Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Chris Parnell (Archer), and Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken) round out the cast.

It hasn't been confirmed whether Black will return for Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, though it was announced at CinemaCon that he would reprise his role as Slappy. According to Variety, Rob Lieber (whose credits include Disney's Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) will pen the script for the Goosebumps sequel.

The first installment, starring Black, Dylan Minnette, and Odeya Rush, grossed $150.1 million in worldwide box office. But it was widely reported in December 2017 that Black was coming back to play the writer and voice Slappy. Watch the trailer in the video above and see for yourself! And like the older kids, it's expected that Stine will show up in the last third of the movie to help contain his creations and save the town from a complete monster takeover. Now the film finally has an official title: Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween.
