First video shows boys in hospital after cave rescue

The team became trapped on June 23 when they set out to explore the cave after soccer practice and rains flooded the tunnels, trapping them inside.

"None of the eight boys has fever today", he added in the clearest update yet on the condition of the boys rescued from Tham Luang cave. Now, two boys along with their football coach remain in the caves.

The father of Richard Harris, a key member of the team of global experts involved in the dramatic rescue mission, died soon after all the boys were freed.

Pak Loharnshoon is a doctor with the Thai Navy Seals, who, along with three others, volunteered to stay with the boys after they were found underground a week ago.

Later this week, the Discovery Channel will be airing a one-hour documentary chronicling the team's weekslong ordeal: "Operation Thai Cave Rescue" premieres at 10 p.m. ET/PT on July 13. Tuesday's operation began just after 10am.

Two of the first group had a lung infection as well, and Thongchai said they would need medicine for seven days.

First images of the Thai boys who were trapped in a cave for more than two weeks were released on Wednesday, showing the soccer team smiling and waving from their hospital beds.

The eight boys brought out on Sunday and Monday were in good health overall and some asked for chocolate bread for breakfast, officials said earlier.

The rescue mission began on Sunday morning, almost a week since the 12 boys, aged 11-16, and their coach had been discovered on an embankment 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) inside the winding tunnels.
