Patriots make no selections in National Football League supplemental draft

Fleck saw something in Beal that no one else did and now he's a hot commodity in the Supplemental Draft.

The Supplemental Draft uses different rules than the regular NFL Draft.

Could the Chiefs replace Peters with Beal in the supplemental draft?

Beal played well as a junior in 2017, earning All-MAC second-team honors and picked off eventual Jets first-round QB Sam Darnold - whom the Giants passed on - among Beal's two INTs. It's unclear if Denver did not place any bids or if they were simply beat out by teams higher than them in the draft order. A team forfeits a corresponding pick in the upcoming draft if they select a player in the supplemental.

There have been some talented players acquired in this process over the years. A year earlier, quarterback Terrelle Pryor was taken in the third round by the Oakland Raiders.

Milwaukee Bucks Sign Donte DiVincenzo
Assuming 120 percent of the rookie scale, he'd be on track for a two-year deal worth $5,386,800 ($2,481,000 being the cap hit). DiVincenzo appeared in 85 games, making 12 starts, during his three seasons with the Wildcats.

Moscow Will Expel Two Greek Diplomats in Response to Athens

There are five eligible players this year, and two of them carry MI ties. There are five players eligible for selection and three of them are defensive backs who have drawn enough interest to suggest they may find a team on Wednesday. This draft is a way for players to continue their careers in football. His Pro-Day measurements in June were also impressive, per NFL.com's Gil Brandt.

Alexander (6-2, 195) was considered a candidate for San Francisco because of his rare size and length for the position. The Washington Redskins drafted Virginia Tech cornerback Adonis Alexander in the sixth round. There are a few players who warrant a look or two. He needs a lot of work in press coverage. He can get grabby in the deep part of the field as well. If he's selected, I guess that it will be in the later stages. Beal stands 6-foot-1 but has a lean build at 178 pounds.

There is, however, one player pool into which the Buccaneers have not dipped in a very long time. One concern is that Beal has just two career interceptions and 19 pass breakups. That pressure will mostly come from linebackers, but Bettcher will get creative and involve his secondary too. The tools are there for him to be a starting corner at the next level. He has the hands to finish for interceptions on an island.

As a recruit: A high three-star in the Class of 2014, Bryant was pretty quiet as a recruit a made a commitment to Mississippi State over Southern Miss near the end of his senior season. Even when he does get a hold of the ball carrier, he isn't an incredibly reliable tackler. He's played in space, had to see plays develop and pick up receivers on the run and he's been effective in that area. Carter just isn't the caliber of RB NFL teams want. The first group has all the teams with six wins or less.

Of course, there's off-the-field questions about both Alexander and Beal that have to be answered. So it's little wonder Gettleman zeroed in on him. He's not a gambler who likes to wheel and deal before or during the draft.
