Trump Says Europe Is 'Losing Its Culture' Due to Immigration - Lauretta Brown

Trump says during a joint news conference that immigration has been "very bad" for Europe and is changing the culture of the continent.

"I think it changed the fabric of Europe and, unless you act very quickly, it's never going to be what it was and I don't mean that in a positive way", he cautioned.

Trump said he believes that the U.K.'s Brexit vote in 2016 was in part a response to lax European immigration laws, and he has frequently tried to use Europe as a cautionary tale for the USA, where he is seeking to implement more hawkish migration policies. "It's very unfortunate but I do not think it's good for Europe and I don't think it's good for our country". I think that what has happened is very tough. I think it's a very negative thing for Europe.

"The UK has a proud history of welcoming people who are fleeing persecution to our country", she said.

"It's not politically not necessarily correct to say that, but I'll say it, and I'll say it loud", he continued.

It comes after the continent's migration crisis has made headlines yet again this year as hundreds of thousands of people - mostly from Africa and the Middle East - make risky journeys to reach Europe illegally.
