Barcelona make Kante bid

Barcelona make Kante bid

Barcelona have stepped up their efforts to sign Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante, making an initial offer of cash plus midfielder Andre Gomes.

Gomes appears to be surplus to requirements at Barcelona after failing to make a mark after joining from Valencia.

Didier Deschamps has stuck by the midfielder throughtout his nation's World Cup campaign, with Kante forming a crucial partnership in midfield with Paul Pogba as they have reached their first World Cup final in 12 years.

However, Chelsea will not let their star midfielder leave as Sarri has reportedly told Chelsea the 27-year-old is not for sale at any price.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Spanish champions Barcelona have made a second bid for Chelsea's Brazil global Willian worth £60m.

Serie A giants Juventus are also believed to be keen on a deal for the Barca man, who has struggled since his arrival at the Camp Nou in 2016.

Chelsea will not want to lose Kante, who is seen as the single most important figure in their midfield.

Reports from Gianluca Di Marzio suggest that Barcelona have earmarked Kante as a replacement for Paulinho.
