Real Madrid Release Statement On Links With Neymar

An online forum had claimed that Real Madrid had sent emissaries to Neymar's father to convince his son to come to Real.

"In the face of the constant reports linking PSG's Neymar our club, Real Madrid CF wish to clarify that the club has no intention of making any offer for the player".

Real Madrid are being strongly linked with an approach for the attacker - especially after the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo - but according to AS, PSG will do everything that they can to avoid a sale.

"To sign someone now to score 50 or 60 goals is going to be hard, no other player can guarantee that as Ronaldo has in these last nine years".

Ronaldo sympathised with the Paris Saint-German star, suggesting his influence was curbed by the fractured metatarsal which ended his club season in February.

PSG are unlikely to part with a superstar they broke the bank to acquire, while it would be an unusual move for a former Barcelona player to become a Galatico. "And top of his list is none other than Neymar", reports.

The 26-year-old still has four years remaining on his contract at the Ligue 1 giants.

"Now, PSG is reportedly willing to offer him a salary in the region of Lionel Messi's, the world's highest paid player at 50 million euros per year", says, quoting no source in particular.

"If Madrid's plan fails, plan B is Neymar's teammate Kylian Mbappé, who is seven years younger and whose price would be lower", the site continues.

"I asked him five years ago and he explained that on many occasions when he's kicked he reacts in that way so that the blow isn't greater", Ronaldo explained.
