A BATWOMAN TV Series Is Coming to The CW!

A BATWOMAN TV Series Is Coming to The CW!

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Kate Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman, is getting her own TV series, set to follow her crossover debut this winter.

Former Vampire Diaries producer Caroline Dries is overseeing the show, working alongside superhero overlord Greg Berlanti, who already has approximately 1,675 shows on the air, including the anchor shows based in the DC universe including Arrow and The Flash. And knocking down a few outdated superhero paradigms in the process.

The series takes place in the same city of Gotham that Batman calls home and is lead by Kate Kane - an crimefighter with 'a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind'. However, like many bats that have come before her, Kate is haunted by the demons of her past, and must confront them before she can be the symbol of hope that Gotham so desperately needs. But it's the first time an openly gay superhero would get top billing in a live-action show or movie. Following the news that Batwoman will debut in the network's annual crossover event in December, it has been reported that a Batwoman show is now in development. Dries is writing the script and will executive produce the series alongside Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns.

Casting is about to begin for an actress to play Batwoman in the DC crossover event in December.

With such a long career in comics, Batwoman will certainly make a great addition to the Arrowverse and could even be a gateway into Gotham City itself.

Mother issues viral warning after daughter gets locked in washing machine

Batwoman could soon be coming to the "Arrow"-verse".

Of course, the series will need to be picked up from its pilot for it to last. Though inspired by Batman, she operated independently of him.

Most recently, Batwoman has been one of the stars of the relaunched Detective Comics by James Tynion IV and finally has her own solo series again.

Provided that BATWOMAN goes to series, the show will become a part of The CW's ever-growing slate of superhero dramas such as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Black Lightning.

Unfortunately, we're not quite sure just who will be playing the title character of Batwoman, either in the crossover special or the hopeful series itself, so feel free to start wishlisting and speculating now!
