'Rugrats' Is Coming Back With a Revival Series and Live-Action Movie

The comeback includes a new 26-episode television series on cable network Nickelodeon and a live-action movie featuring CGI characters for Paramount Players, a division of Paramount Pictures. There aren't any plot details yet, but most of the beloved original characters, including Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Susie, and Angelica, will appear in the show. Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain, creators of the original 1991 series, will return as executive producers. Production is already underway at the company's Burbank studio, though more information as to a release date and casting will be announced in the weeks and months to come. Some new characters will also be introduced, and the whole cast will enjoy some new adventures together. "We can't wait for today's kids to meet Tommy, Chuckie and pals".

The "Rugrats" movie will be written by David Goodman and is set to be released on November 13, 2020 by Paramount Players, the division of Paramount Pictures that develops and produces co-branded feature films with Viacom's leading media networks. "Kids who grew up with Tommy Pickles and the Rugrats crew will now be able to share that experience with their own children". Over the span of 13 years, the Nickelodeon series earned four Daytime Emmy Awards, 6 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, and even has its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which was presented in honor of the show's 10th anniversary.
