Mega Evolution Returns With Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee!

Nintendo and the The Pokemon Company recently released a Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee trailer that focusses on the various locations and activities beyond choosing your partner Pokemon, namely Vermillion city and the S.S. Anne. Additionally, the recent CoroCoro scans revealed the third gym that is led by Lt. Surge for the first time. The magazine shows off the Mega forms of the three Kanto starters: Charizard, Venasaur and Blastoise.

These will be accessible in the same way as in previous games by players receiving a "key stone" at some point in the game. It now remains to be seen whether the other Pokemon who can mega evolve from the Kanto region will receive this same treatment.

The pages of CoroCoro also cover news around which NPCs will be appearing in the two games. Just as in the original Pokemon Yellow version, Lt. Surge battles alongside a Raichu, but players must first solve a puzzle in his Gym before getting the opportunity to challenge him.
