NCAA's new proposed rules blindsides NBA, USA Basketball officials

Notable changes relevant to high school players include the ability for "elite" prospects to have official relationships with agents, the reduction of the July recruiting period to one weekend and the creation of camp-style events coordinated by the NCAA, USA Basketball, the NBA and NBA Players Association.

"Regardless of any change on age eligibility, we, the NBA, believe we should be more involved in the development of elite basketball players, " Behrens told NCAA.com. The NBA's current rules require USA players to be 19 years old and one year removed from high school, which has led to many elite high school players using college basketball as a one-year waypoint before turning pro.

On Wednesday this week (Aug. 8), the NCAA announced several rule adaptations for college basketball.

This declaration, which has neither been ratified by the NBA or USA Basketball, is contingent on the league modifying its one-and-done policy, and frankly seems like a lot of extra work for two parties that didn't ask for it, but one organization that will suprisingly be effected very negatively by this potential rule has to be the Philadelphia 76ers.

"Today was obviously a very important day for the NCAA and especially for men's basketball, and".

Unscrupulous individuals won't halt their endeavors simply because of any reforms, but the NCAA didn't take any legitimate steps to make those pursuits more hard.

Hydrogen fuel breakthrough in Queensland Can Influence Exports
Liquid hydrogen must be contained at incredibly high pressure or maintained at very low temperatures by complex cryogenic systems. Hyundai spokesman Scott Nargar told the ABC this trial was a massive step for Australia's hydrogen-powered vehicle market.

Jim Tooley, the CEO of USA Basketball, told NCAA.com by phone from the Bahamas, "Our universe of junior national team players isn't every pro prospect and even if we expand the pool, we don't include worldwide players".

In terms of agents, the changes are as much about transparency and offering a legitimate avenue for communication or advice that previously could've taken place in the shadows — and raised the likelihood of attracting unscrupulous characters. The agents can cover minimal costs, such as meals and travel expenses related to gauging interest in professional opportunities.

National Basketball Association policy states that players must be one year removed from high school to be eligible for the draft.

When the Sixers made the controversial decision to trade everyone's favorite former Villanova Wildcat Mikal Bridges to the Phoenix Suns for the 16th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and a 2021 unprotected first-round pick from the Miami Heat, it was always going to be a gamble, but the last week has virtually decimated any chance of this deal looking great for the Sixers moving forward.

"My question is, what if there are no scholarships at that school because they gave the scholarships away because they thought he was leaving?" "What does that kid do now?" A pair of independent groups will be assigned to manage and solve complex cases. Other than that, the NCAA rule changes weren't all bad.

School presidents and athletics staff will be held more accountable for cooperating with investigators. The case has entangled schools such as Kansas, North Carolina State, Maryland and Louisville, among others, though prosecutors withdrew a criminal complaint in February against one of the defendants.
