PGA Players Honor Jarrod Lyle with Yellow Ribbons

Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend Jarrod Lyle.

Former PGA Tour professional Jarrod Lyle lost his ongoing battle with cancer on Wednesday, and Day was devastated to learn of his fellow countryman's death. He's wearing a yellow ribbon on his hat for remembrance.

"He's front and center", said Fowler. "He'd probably come out here, kick us in the butt, tell us to man up and go have some fun".

"It's a little bit bittersweet".

Our hearts go out to Briony and the entire Lyle family.

"It's just sad because he's part of us".

Several American players were hunting for Ryder Cup points in the final qualifying event for the first eight spots on the U.S. squad that will defend the trophy against Europe next month in France. "It's going to be tough times for all of us". Now to see his kids without a dad.

"He was such a nice guy. It's going to be a tough loss for all of us". Fowler spoke with Lyle last week. "I want to remember him when he was Jarrod". "It takes your mind off of golf and trying to hit the shots". "We will all be thinking about him and his family this week".

Rain washes out first day in Lord’s Test
The first was the result of an absolutely stunning away swinger that bowled Murali Vijay off the fifth ball of the day. Anderson then had KL Rahul (eight) caught behind, with India now 10 for two.

"It can work as a benefit if you go about it the right way".

World No. 3 Justin Rose of England tweeted: "Such a sad day, we will all miss you so much Jarrod. He passed away peacefully at 8.20pm last night, having spent his final week in Torquay among his family and close friends". As there had been no improvement, he made a decision to stop cancer treatment and begin palliative care, reports Efe.

"He asked that I provide a simple message: "Thanks for your support, it meant the world. My time was short but if I have helped people think and act on behalf of those families who suffer through cancer, hopefully it wasn't wasted".

Last week, Lyle announced that he was ending his treatment for cancer to enter palliative care. "We'll be taking him closer to home in the next couple of days so he can finally leave the hospital". He was diagnosed with leukaemia as a youth and twice thought he had beaten cancer only to have it return past year.

Emotional Jason Day and Rickie Fowler are among the stars who put themselves in the mix while playing with heavy hearts during the opening round of the US PGA Championships in St Louis.

Our thoughts are with Jarrod's loved ones during this time. He underwent a bone marrow transplant in December.

The golfer is survived by his wife and two daughters, Lusi (6) and Jemma (2).

"It has been enjoyable celebrating his life and we'll continue to do that".
