Resident Evil 2's Japanese Collector's Edition Is a Masterstroke

Despite the extras included with some of the top-end packages, the unit is essentially a rebadge of an nearly identical keyboard that costs just $249 on the QwerkyWriter website. The most notable item is the typewriter and ribbon inspired by the in-game items required to save. You can buy the Bluetooth keyboard individually if you'd prefer, but it'll still cost you an eye-watering ¥75,000 (~$675). It has been shaped like a typewriter with typewriter-style keys, and there is even a little dock where you can rest a smartphone or tablet because since this is Bluetooth, you should be able to use it with your mobile devices as well.

We're living in an age over-the-top collector's editions of video games are a common thing. The keyboard is also available without the game for 81,000 yen taxes included. What's more is that this pricey package for the remake also includes a statue of Leon Kennedy, four "ink ribbons" that are actually rolls of masking tape, a Raccoon Police Station poster, an official art book and soundtrack CD, a DLC voucher, a collector's chest, and of course, a copy of the game. That said, though, it's worth noting that the Collector's Edition won't have the Lexington vintage typewriter keyboard. Unfortunately, we don't know whether we'll get these editions in the west, but my money is on "nope".
