GeForce RTX 2080 Ti specs confirm Nvidia’s next powerful video card

There's no word on GPU clockspeeds, but we can expect the RTX 2080 Ti to outpace its predecessor. Rumors from VideoCardz and AdoredTV suggest the former (possibly priced at $300 to $500) will be 40% faster than the 1070, carrying a total of 2304 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 memory.

Graphics card maker Nvidia has a special event starting on Monday focusing on their GeForce line. As the product numbering suggests, the RTX 2080 will sit between the GeForce GTX 1080 and Quadro RTX 5000, while the 2080 Ti will sit between the GTX 1080 Ti and Quadro RTX 6000.

We're roughly an hour away from NVIDIA's official launch of the GeForce RTX series of gaming graphics cards, however, the event has already been spoiled.

The whole Turing range of next-gen GeForce cards promises to deliver some very impressive performance, as it looks like the new architecture offers a lot of power and rendering capabilities that more than just an upgrade over the current Pascal architecture, which was pretty impressive itself especially in getting laptop graphics up to scratch. Prices and specs didn't appear in this initial leak, but the page does include hard confirmation that the cards will ship with a bump to Nvidia's Turing chip architecture. Ideal real-time ray tracing in video games is still a couple of years away, but Nvidia previously released a teaser video highlighting how it could look.
