Apple Watch Series 4 all but confirmed in regulatory filings

Apple Watch Series 4 all but confirmed in regulatory filings

Rumours suggest the new Apple Watch could have a larger screen, better battery life, and new health features. The information comes from a listing at the Eurasian Economic Commission, which approves devices that are using encryption, sold in Russian Federation and other countries in the region. The current generation Apple Watch Series 3 is available in eight models. Apple filings for new products appear in EEC's database a week or two before new products are actually launched.

What's surprising about Apple's filings is that we're only looking at six model numbers instead of the expected eight.

Apple has not changed the physical design of the Apple Watch since the device first went on sale in 2015.

We're expecting to see the Apple Watch 4 this year, potentially as soon as September, and there's now more evidence that it could be coming very soon, as it may have just been listed by the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission). Apple has yet to issue invitations to the media though, so the date isn't confirmed.

They will run watchOS 5 out of the box, the upcoming software that is still in the preview stage. Similar filings from the same regulatory commission have surfaced in the weeks before new iPads and iPhones have launched.
