Bob Woodward reveals what shocked him most in new Trump book

The piece's publication has coincided with revelations from a new book by veteran journalist Bob Woodward that depicts a chaotic White House in which some aides have even removed papers from Trump's desk to prevent him from taking what they believe to be unwarranted actions. "And Mattis goes on and says if we don't keep these programs, which are very sensitive, the only deterrent program we have will be the nuclear option".

Numerous current and former administration officials and Trump affiliates have disputed Woodward's claims in the book, but Woodward has consistently stood by his work.

"Let me drill down, because there's a couple things that, I mean - they leap off the page", Guthrie pressed further, pointing to statements attributed to White House chief of staff John Kelly and Secretary of Defense James Mattis. Woodward has written 18 books in total, covering nine Presidents of the United States including books on Barack Obama, George W Bush, Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon.

"A source tells us he [Trump] shouted out 'Bring back Hope Hicks!' Apparently, he preferred her response to ["Fire and Fury" author] Michael Wolff".

The book, released Tuesday, contains accounts of President Trump in which aides at times paint him as ignorant on foreign policy and harsh with staff members, aides and surrogates, among other things.

The book also quotes Mattis, after a contentious National Security Council meeting on January 19, as saying Trump acted like and had the understanding of "a fifth or sixth-grader". The Afghan leaders were corrupt and making money off the US, Bob Woodward writes in the book.

The sixth seed survived three break points in the following game, an epic that lasted more than 20 minutes, in a pivotal moment. In a tight opening set, there was only a single break point and Djokovic made it count to go up 5-3 before serving it out.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 launched with a near $1,000 price tag in the USA and P55,990 for the base model in the Philippines. With this in mind, let's see how it will differ from last year's 12.9-inch iPad Pro (there's a surprising change in size).

More recently, Trump has accused Woodward of fabricating quotes and questioned whether US libel laws could be changed so that people who believe they have been wronged would be in a better position to seek "retribution". Trump wrote on Twitter.

President Donald Trump speaks during a fundraiser in Sioux Falls, S.D., September 7, 2018. Hardly anyone stopped to reflect on the truth or the seriousness or consequences of a White House and USA government in turmoil - or indeed the constitutionality of unelected officials trying to thwart America's supreme elected official. "It's the worst job in America".

Infuriated by the unsigned missive, Mr Trump on Friday urged Mr Sessions to launch an investigation to uncover the author's identity, citing "national security" concerns. "These quotes were made up".

He said the book was "the product of someone's rich imagination".

Trump has authored many books, including the best-selling auto-biography "The Art of the Deal" in 1987.
