Nolte: Bob Woodward Amps Up Scare Tactics to Hype Book

"It would be easier to get things done if you're able to fully trust everyone around you".

US President Donald Trump says he'll write the real book on his presidency.

The suggestion that work continues apace inside the administration was belied by Trump himself, who spent much of the morning tweeting angrily about journalist Bob Woodward, whose book detailing dysfunction among Trump aides is released on Tuesday.

Other administration officials have issued even more scathing statements and some denials about Woodward's book, although Woodward said denials by Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis and chief of staff John Kelly are untrue.

Case in point, one excerpt reveals the newly appointed National Economic Council director Gary Cohn's "I've had a huge mistake" moment in his first meeting with then president-elect Trump.

Deutsche Bank was under investigation by the Justice Department for both its role in a " mirror trading " scheme with Russian oligarchs that allowed them to launder cash out of Russia in the face of United States sanctions, and for its mortgage practices amid the financial crisis, which regulators sought a $14 billion fine for. He said his book "is as carefully done as you can do an excavation of the reality of what goes on".

The White House on Monday sought to project an image of productive forward momentum, even as President Donald Trump and many of his aides remain sidetracked and preoccupied by dual accounts of a warring and mutinous West Wing. Similarly, The New York Times op-ed prompted a parade of statements from top administration officials denying responsibility.

Paul Pogba: Manchester United exit reports 'will always be just rumours'
The boss and the player seem to have gotten their worries behind them, and have settled last seasons's tension already. He has a good personality but not for United - they should have [Pep] Guardiola as coach.

"I'm not because I know what I did and I'm not anxious about it", he said, again denying that he spoke to his father about his June 2016 Trump Tower sit-down with a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton.

Woodward added, "He's got it in his head, and when people challenge him he will say, 'Oh, I've had those ideas for thirty years - you're wrong'".

Trump Jr. also predicted that "there will never be a conclusive end" to the investigation, predicting that Democrats would use the probe "as a permanent asterisk on my father's record" and use it to "sway midterms - they'll try to use it to sway 2020". People know who Woodward is.

Cohn says Woodward's book "does not accurately portray my experience".

"Cohn cited no specific objections to Woodward's extensive reporting of his private views that Trump needed to be saved from his most risky impulses", Axios reports. If I did I would not have been elected President. We don't take it like others - like China", Donald Trump is quoted as saying during the July 19 situation room meeting."The US needed to get some of Afghanistan's valuable minerals in exchange for any support. "A source tells us he [Trump] shouted out 'Bring back Hope Hicks!' Apparently, he preferred her response to ["Fire and Fury" author] Michael Wolff", said Blackwell.

"General Mattis, General Kelly said it's not true", Trump continued.
