Caron Butler Says Lakers Should Go After Jimmy Butler

Jon Krawczynski and Shams Charania of The Athletic say Butler has given the Timberwolves a list of one to three teams with which he is open to signing a contract extension.

It should be easy to deduce that Butler can see himself with the Clippers, New York or Brooklyn, since all of those teams will have the cap space to give him the $140 million (or $190 million) max contract he's seeking.

Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star shooting guard Jimmy Butler formally requested a trade Wednesday - and that set off a series of events that eventually involved former National Basketball Association player Stephen Jackson, Minnesota small forward Andrew Wiggins and Andrew's brother Nick Wiggins. Even though the Timberwolves have a fondness for Avery Bradley, both he and Luc Mbah a Moute can not be traded until December because they signed new contracts this summer. His wishlist consists of the Knicks, Nets and Clippers.

"We're going to build this team the right way".

Dwight Howard demanded to be traded by Orlando in 2012, and got his way.

Ninety-seven percent of black voters are also in favor of O'Rourke, and 54 percent of Hispanic voters are supporting him. Texas, Florida, Arizona and Nevada, all surveyed in the poll, are four of the most competitive Senate races.

Just a year ago, he got a new start with a familiar coach in hopes of continuing his accent to the NBA's elite. The guard willed Minnesota to the playoffs, snapping a 13-year postseason drought. The Chicago Sun-Times recently reported that Butler and Kyrie Irving were interested in linking up this summer on an Eastern Conference team with enough cap room for them both.

The Nets have their own first-round picks through 2026 and picked up a protected first-rounder from the Denver Nuggets in a July trade that will convey if it is outside of the top 12 at any point from 2019-24. Instead, the pick turns into a 2022 second rounder.

It's happened in NY, where the Knicks traded young players and future assets in 2011 to acquire Carmelo Anthony, rather than sign him the following summer as a free agent with the cap space they had.

It's a team that has had its share of issues over the years, but this one ranks up there. And it's not a new thing - Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wanted trades and got them.

Andrew Wiggins has come under some scrutiny in the wake of teammate Jimmy Butler's request for a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves, and now he's clapping back.
