IPhone XS users can now charge their phones in peace

IPhone XS users can now charge their phones in peace

If you've been online at all in the past few weeks, you've probably read about a charging issue affecting some iOS 12 devices.

Upon inserting the charger into the device's port while the display is off, users reported that their iPhone would not automatically begin charging.

The iPhone XS #ChargeGate issue has finally come to an end as Apple has released a fix with its minor iOS 12.01 software update. Instead, they'd only do so if the screen was active when the charging was initiated.

The position of the.?123 key has also been switched back in this update on the iPad. iOS 12 swapped the position of the.?123 key and the emoji/language key, which annoyed some users and this update swaps it back. After digging deeper, users also discovered that the iPhone XS sometimes joined Wi-Fi networks that were available in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands in 2.4GHz even though the phones support 5GHz. Since 5 GHz networks offer faster data speeds than 2.4 GHz, that could have a noticeable impact on usability.

Google to overhaul privacy rules after discovering exposure of user data
It said a bug in its software meant information that people believed was private had been accessible by third parties. They'll further limit these permissions by removing contact interaction data for the Android Contacts API.

Other fixes address "issues where subtitles may not appear in some video apps", and "where Bluetooth could become unavailable".

If you're experiencing issues with your iPhone, update to the latest version of iOS right now. You can also apply the update through iTunes by connecting your iOS device to a computer.

To grab the latest updates, head to your devices settings menu, tap General, and then select Software Update.
