Kanye West to lunch with Trump at White House on Thursday

Kanye West to lunch with Trump at White House on Thursday

On Monday, the singer-songwriter Taylor Swift endorsed two Democrats for the United States mid-term elections, prompting Mr Trump to tell reporters that he likes "Taylor's music about 25% less now".

West will have lunch with the President at the White House and meet with Kushner, according to White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders.

The meeting will not be West's first with the President, as the two came face-to-face in a much-publicized meeting in Trump Tower in 2016 during the presidential transition. The report indicates West is meeting with Kushner and Trump to discuss similar issues, as Kushner has been tasked with overseeing criminal justice reform for the White House.

A representative for Kanye confirmed the meeting too, validating that this meeting is indeed expected to happen.

The move led to Pete Davidson, Ariana Grande's finance and SNL star, to publicly slam West.

Since then, Kanye has repeatedly spoken about his appreciation for Trump on social media and has appeared wearing hats emblazoned with the Trump campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again".

During Saturday's show, he said: 'Kanye is a genius, but like a musical genius. Kanye, I know you're like, 'Yo, this is the real me, I'm off the meds'. "Like Joey Chestnut is a hot dog-eating genius, but I don't want to hear Joey Chestnut's opinions about things that aren't hot dog-related".

Posting a Boomerang clip of Davidson's Saturday Night Live intro, she captioned it, "I love you like Kanye loves Kanye".
