Haley's resignation a loss, but administration still pro

Following her surprising resignation as United Nations ambassador, Nikki Haley emphasized she is not planning to run for president in 2020. She said there were no personal reasons for her departure, she just knew it was "time to step aside". Then she'll be president, life will finally catch up to House of Cards, and then we can cancel Netflix.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, she described Trump as "everything a governor doesn't want in a president".

Trump said he was considering many candidates for Haley's job and that a successor would be named in two to three weeks.

Mrs Haley's Twitter bio had already removed all reference to her role as United Nations ambassador even before her departure was confirmed.

Haley will leave by the end of the year, Trump told reporters.

'Jared and I are grateful for her friendship - a true blessing in our lives!'

Republican lawmakers swiftly praised Mrs Haley after the news broke.

He told reporters in the Oval Office she would be leaving the post at the end of the year after doing "an incredible job".

We've got more newsletters we think you'll find interesting. "The US is strong in a way it should make all Americans proud", Haley said.

Wife of Israeli prime minister goes on trial for fraud
In June, the court charged the wife of the Prime Minister of Israel on charges of embezzlement of budget funds for personal needs. In recent months, one key former advisor to the Netanyahu family has turned state witness, raising the stakes against them.

In the hour after word leaked on Tuesday morning that she was leaving, the Washington punditocracy had worked itself into a lather wondering if she was being fired or eased out because she was constantly challenging Trump on issues such as sanctions on Russian Federation (on which she is a hardliner) and wanted to run against him in 2020.

Michael Haley reported a bank balance of from $15,000 to $50,000, and between $50,000 and $100,000 in rental income from the Lexington property before it was sold.

Others pundits and Twitter politicos saw the sudden resignation as a sign that the former Governor of SC was planning to run against Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Haley, 46, was appointed to the U.N. post in November 2016 and last month co-ordinated Trump's second trip to the United Nations, including his first time chairing the Security Council. The move was surprising to some given Ms Haley's relative inexperience with global politics.

"Ambassador Haley should have been conscious of the appearance concerns surrounding her acceptance of gifts of private luxury air travel at a time when her colleagues in the administration were making news with their own lavish air travel", CREW wrote.

Yet it's often said that the UN's biggest peacekeeping mission is directed against the Trump White House, and Mrs Haley was seen as a valuable ally.

"Running for president", a former senior administration official emailed me after the announcement. When there is disagreement, there is a right way and a wrong way to address it.

"I've heard a lot of names".

She has been more outspoken in calling out Russian aggression than Trump, for example.
