Knicks officially waive Joakim Noah, still owe former All-Star $38 million

On Saturday, the New York Knicks finally severed ties with Joakim Noah, announcing they have waived the former All-Star after two astoundingly disappointing seasons. He then signed a four-year, $72 million contract with NY as a free agent in the summer of 2016.

By using the stretch provision, the Knicks will add about $13 million in cap space to sign free agents next summer, according to the newspaper.
