'Bolt has been offered European deal' - Sprinter's agent confirms transfer approach

Sprint legend and eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt has hit out on Instagram after being handed a drug testing notice, despite retiring from athletics and having no professional contract as he seeks a football career.

"So guys, I've retired from track and field looking to become a footballer but look at this", said Bolt, as quoted by AS.

"I'm just happy I got the chance and I'm proud of myself".

"I'm not even a professional footballer yet, seriously".

"A champion is always welcome and at Valletta FC we believe nothing is impossible", said Slimen, adding that he hoped Bolt could pave the way for more athletes to switch sports.

Bolt may be displeased with the notice, it would appear that the Austrailian Anti-Doping Guidelines mean that the FFA is only acting within the rules.

The 32-year-old is now on trial with Australian a-league side Central Coast Mariners and last week scored two goals for them in a friendly against Macarthur South West United.

They define an athlete simply as a "person who competes in sport and if the sport has an anti-doping policy".

Bolt scored twice for the Central Coast Mariners last Friday.

He made his case on Friday by scoring two goals for the Mariners in a pre-season friendly.
