Trump calls Elizabeth Warren a ‘phony’ over DNA test

President Donald Trump has lobbed racist "Pocahontas" insults at Warren for years, and he dismissed the results as phony after she released a political ad about the DNA test.

Warren has always been ridiculed by President Donald Trump for claiming Native American ancestry, with Trump dubbing her "Pocahontas" and accusing her of claiming minority status for personal and career gain.

Mrs Warren's DNA tests are the result of her claimed Native American heritage. "Flashbacks" revealed Warren claiming direct knowledge of a Cherokee ancestor (and alleging that her family experienced racism as a result), and the official Cherokee Nation issued a stinging rebuke against the MA senator Monday night, reminding her that the Nation has strict guidelines for membership, which she does not meet.

The Massachusetts Democrat and possible 2020 presidential candidate on Monday released DNA test results that genealogists say show she could be anywhere from 1/64th to 1/1024th Native American.

That wasn't enough for Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr.

"I'll only do it if I can test her personally", he said.

Having provided the results to American newspaper the Boston Globe yesterday, Warren now has conclusive proof of her Native American ancerstry.

Trump yet to speak to Saudis about missing journalist
Saudi Arabia has maintained the journalist, a critic of the government, left the building shortly after arriving on 2 October. US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he does not know anything about Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance .

Warren's release of the DNA report on Monday was accompanied by a almost six-minute, campaign-style video that recounted her background and takes direct aim at Trump, with Warren saying his mocking of Native Americans is "not what America stands for".

"Pocahontas (the bad version), sometimes referred to as Elizabeth Warren, is getting slammed", he wrote. "Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation".

The closest Warren got to acknowledging that she proactively listed herself as Native American at work was when she said she put her heritage in that national directory in hopes of finding other professors across the country with similar backgrounds: "I listed myself in the directory in the hopes that it might mean that I would be invited to a luncheon, a group something that might happen with people who are like I am". She has previously cited family stories to claim Cherokee and Delaware Indian heritage. On Monday, Trump said he would pay up, but only if he "can test her personally".

At a rally in July, Trump said: "And we will say, 'I will give you a million dollars, paid for by Trump, to your favorite charity if you take the test and it shows you're an Indian ... we'll see what she does".

"That will not be something I enjoy doing either", Trump said.

Trump has bucked decades of precedent by refusing to release his income tax returns.
