Dennis Hof, Nevada brothel owner, to stay on ballot despite death

"I just confirmed with Nye County sheriff's deputy that Dennis Hof passed away this morning", Muth tweeted.

David Boruchowitz says an employee at the brothel called 911 late the morning of October 16, 2018 when Hof was found unresponsive and not breathing.

No cause of death has been determined. That location was center stage of HBO reality show and documentary about the sex industry, "Cathouse: The Series".

The sheriff says Hof was sitting on a stool and talking with people when she left the party at the Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Casino after 10 p.m. Monday.

Former NBA star Lamar Odom was once famously found unconscious at Love Ranch after a four-day stay. Boruchowitz said there was "no indication of foul play".

A Nevada brothel owner and state Assembly candidate who was found dead Tuesday will remain on the ballot in the race for a statehouse seat in this November's election.

Hof was running against the Democratic Las Vegas educator Lesia Romanov.

This year, he ran as a Republican and earned backing from Trump associate Roger Stone and tax-cut activist Grover Norquist, who attended one of Hof's parties.

He said the anti-brothel push and regulatory problems he's faced this year were political retribution.
