Andrew Lincoln to Revisit The Walking Dead Role in Multiple Films (Spoilers)

Rick Grimes' story isn't over yet, Andrew Lincoln is not yet done with the Walking Dead universe.

"I thought the idea of a character that the audience knows and has lived with - and who has oscillated between psycho and father for nine years - to start in a completely different place, was a really interesting, insane place to begin", he explained.

Steven Yeun appeared on The Walking Dead from season 1 to 7 as Glenn Rhee.

The three movies will be the first of, "multiple new scripted ventures" that will expand The Walking Dead franchise.

"We have a lot on the horizon - starting with a new epic featuring one of the greatest leading actors in television history and one of the best people I've ever met", said Walking Dead chief content officer Scott M. Gimple, who'll write the script.

The backstop is an arrangement that applies if the Irish border can not be kept frictionless during a wider deal. But some of Britain's biggest corporate names have had enough of the government's handling of the negotiations.

'Over the next several years, we're going to be doing specials, new series are quite a possibility, high-quality digital content and then some content that defies description at the moment, ' Gimple added.

Now, we see our survivors a year and a half after the end of the war, rebuilding civilization under Rick's steadfast leadership. As for why Lincoln isn't hanging up his hat for good, so to speak, well his reason for leaving the show in the first place was to spend more time with his family in London. And now we know that we'll learn what happens next with him in a series of original films that will air on the channel (and, one assumes, on its regular Fox home here in the UK).

The movies will explore the time period between Rick's helicopter rescue by Anne/Jadis and the time jump to many years later at the end of the episode. "We're going to introduce new characters and new situations".

The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Austin Amelio, Tom Payne, Khary Payton, Katelyn Nacon, Pollyanna McIntosh, Callan McAuliffe, Avi Nash, and Samantha Morton as Alpha.

The Hollywood Reporter also has an extensive interview with Lincoln about his final days on the show, plans for the new movies, and much more.
