According to The Hollywood Reporter, creator Vince Gilligan is working on a two-hour film, though details are so scarce at this stage in the process we honestly don't know much of anything yet. While Bryan Cranston's work is tremendous, it's time to let Walt rest. A prequel series on AMC, "Better Call Saul", starring Bob Odenkirk, wrapped its fourth season in October.

Cranston appeared on the Dan Patrick Show, where he confirmed that the Breaking Bad is indeed happening - but he doesn't know if there's a part for him in it.

While a distributor has yet to be revealed, most theatrical movies and traditional television projects are announced well in advance. Gilligan is set to write, executive produce and could even direct the feature based on the show, which will focus on the story of a kidnapped man escaping to freedom.

Gilligan, who also created the Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul, inked a three-year pact with Sony Pictures Television over the summer amid a hyper-competitive environment in the industry for proven showrunners.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is at the helm of the project, which could yet be either for TV or a theater release.

Breaking Bad was a critical breakout and ran for a successful five season. "But I'm excited about it, because it's Breaking Bad", he said.

Well, that tracks. This just about the only thing that would've made sense, given that leaked logline, one of the few dangling Breaking Bad plot threads that might sustain an entire film.
