Driver charged in death of actress' toddler kills herself

A New York City woman who had been charged in a auto crash that killed a Broadway star's unborn baby, her 4-year-old daughter and another child was found dead Tuesday, having apparently taken her own life.

Dorothy Bruns was indicted earlier this year on charges of manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and assault after she allegedly drove her auto through a crosswalk, killing Miles' daughter, 4-year-old Abigail, and Lew's son, 1-year-old Joshua.

Police were called to her Staten Island address for a wellness check after a friend said she had not heard from her. Officers found Bruns' body and evidence she had ingested pills, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Abigail and Joshua were killed and Miles, who was seven months pregnant at the time, lost her baby in May.

Bruns suffered from multiple sclerosis and was prone to seizures.

The seizure-prone Staten Island woman who had been charged with fatally mowing down two Park Slope kids in a crosswalk left behind a suicide note saying she couldn't "do this anymore", law enforcement sources told The Post Wednesday.

Additionally in the past two years she accrued four speed violations and four red light violations.
