Kyrie Irving lifts Celtics from horrific start to incredible comeback over Suns

In the first half of the game between the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns, Kyrie Irving was the only starter to score in the first half. However, only one of the starters contributed to those 13 points.

Morris hit from the top of the arc to tie it at 100. The Celtics had put themselves in position for a final gasp and, when two defenders collapsed on Irving (and unforgivably didn't foul him or Morris before a shot), Irving didn't try to be a hero and flipped the ball to a wide-open Morris for a straightaway triple. "I worked on my 3-pointers extensively". But the Celtics also have a logjam at point guard, especially after Irving stated that he intends to re-sign in Boston at season's end. Brad Stevens' team converted a meager 21.7 percent of their first-half shots and, with strong shooting (51 percent) from the Suns, Phoenix took a 20-point margin to the second half.

At least Barkley has a recorded account of a rare, fleeting fun moment during the Suns' 2-9 start to their season.

Boston recovered from an ice cold start and won despite shooting 40.2 per cent from the field.

One dead, two injured, in Melbourne stabbing incident
A man has killed one person and wounded two others in a knife rampage in Melbourne that police are treating as a terror attack. Two police officers arrive nearly instantly to find a blue utility vehicle ablaze, with flames shooting high into the air.

Opening the second half down 55-35, the Celtics mounted a furious comeback late in the fourth quarter.

Suns rookie Deandre Ayton had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Thursday's win won't mean all that much if they revert to bad habits and continue to sleepwalk at times through games. Jayson Tatum added two free throws with nine seconds left to close it out. It's the team that didn't back down when Irving and Gordon Hayward were lost to season-ending injuries, taking LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to seven games in the East finals. "We had to make adjustments".

"You take the blame and responsibility as a coach", Kokoskov said.

Lo and behold, the Celtics made a gallant run to send the game to overtime and eventually snatch the win on the road, 116-109.
