Larry Drew will remain Cavs head coach through season

CLEVELAND -The Cleveland Cavaliers and "acting head coach" Larry Drew have agreed to terms on a new deal, the team announced Monday afternoon.

Because of the team's lack of overall success over the years, Nikola Vucevic has flown under the radar as one of the most effective big men in the Conference.

Drew wanted some guarantees and security during a rebuilding season for the Cavs.

Unlike numerous Cavaliers' previous eight losses on the year, the outcome of Monday's game remained in doubt until the Magic hit the game-winner at the buzzer. At first, he was reluctant to be an interim coach, due to the scrutiny they face, Drew made that clear early on, according to Greg Joyce of the New Yor Post. "I knew (the last shot) wasn't going to be catch-and-shoot situation because that's a tough shot". They were hoping to contend for a postseason berth in the wake of losing LeBron James to free agency for a second time.

In an open letter to the gymnastics community Monday, USOC CEO Sarah Hirshland said "you deserve better", and that the challenges facing USA Gymnastics are more than it is capable of overcoming as now constructed.

Drew said he did not talk to the team about anything beyond this season.

However, the team has lost their first two games to start the month of November.

The last time Hood traveled to Orlando it was as a member of the Jazz, and he had his way with the Magic that night - exploding for 31 points, going 12-of-21 from the floor, including 7-of-13 from deep in a 40-point victory. The Magic now improve to 4-6 on the season and will play again on Wednesday night when they face the Detroit Pistons.
