Ahead of final poll results, Rick Scott gives victory speech

In that race, incumbent Sen.

Scott's campaign has dismissed talk of a recount as "a sad way for Bill Nelson to end his career", officially declaring victory on Wednesday night.

Nelson was been viewed as one of the more vulnerable Democrats thanks to the formidable challenge from Scott, a multimillionaire businessman who has poured more than $60 million of his own fortune into his campaign.

The tight races underscored Florida's status as a perennial swing state where elections are often decided by the thinnest of margins.

"In less than one week, Americans will go to the polls in one of the most important elections of their lives", Trump said at the rally, before qualifying that this election was "not as important as 2016".

The entire ordeal is reminiscent of the 2000 general election where a recount made hanging chads a household name.

In a Senate race, Republican Rick Scott had 50.11 percent of the vote compared to Democrat Bill Nelson's 49.89 percent.

"I will not sit idly by while unethical liberals try to steal this election".

Scott cited no evidence of wrongdoing, and the counties have until noon Saturday to report their unofficial vote count.

Scott is asking for law enforcement to investigate immediately and he will use every legal options necessary, he said.

He announced that he had filed a lawsuit against the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office because "they are illegally refusing to allow official party representatives into the ballot counting area and forcing people to stand behind a glass wall with limited visibility and no ability to hear what is going on".

Lo and behold, the Celtics made a gallant run to send the game to overtime and eventually snatch the win on the road, 116-109. Thursday's win won't mean all that much if they revert to bad habits and continue to sleepwalk at times through games.

DOJOn his way out the door yesterday, former Attorney General Jeff Sessions took credit for reversing an upswing in violent crime. Valparaiso City Councilman Robert Cotton, D-2nd, said the Mueller investigation needs to be protected.

At an emergency hearing on Friday, Snipes' attorneys suggested this could slow counting.

Adding to the drama, Scott called a press conference Thursday evening at the governor's mansion and declared that "there may be rampant fraud happening".

Fox News host Bret Baier compared the Florida recounts to the 2000 presidential recount in the state. "What's going on in Florida is a disgrace".

Florida election results remain undecided with both the senate and governor's races falling under the 0.50% margin that triggers an automatic recount, with the latest results on November 8.

Thousands of ballots still remain uncounted, so it's too soon to say whether a recount will indeed happen in the race for governor. Carrying Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis signs, voters rejected what they see as the supervisor's efforts to "steal the election away". It is AP policy not to call a race that is facing a recount.

But so far, they have only tabulated 682,073 ballots in the Senate race. "Our campaign, along with our attorney Barry Richard, is monitoring the situation closely and is ready for an outcome, including a state-mandated recount".

"On Tuesday night, the Gillum for Governor campaign operated with the best information available about the number of outstanding ballots left to count", said Johanna Cervone, the campaign's communications director, in a statement.

Republican Sen. Marco Rubio released a thread of tweets Thursday, saying there shouldn't still be issues with counting votes in South Florida if the portion of the state that was affected by the hurricane managed to have its votes counted in time. "We're working really hard on the transition".

The board had just started examining provisional ballots from early voting moments before Snipes was asked if she was aware of the lawsuit.

Now, each side is demanding the names of voters who cast provisional ballots in Tuesday's election, the newspaper said.

Nelson's elections lawyer, Marc Elias, a veteran of prominent recounts around the country, told reporters Thursday morning that he expects the gap to narrow and reach the manual-recount threshold.
